Product Details

  • Amazon Sales Rank: #5923 in Automotive
  • Brand: Purolator
  • Released on: 2006-09-05

Features

  • Oil is designed to clean, cool and lubricate the metal surfaces of the engine - neglecting oil and filter changes may result in the deterioration of the engine's internal parts, overheating and corrosion
  • Change the oil and oil filter every 3,000 miles or as specified by the manufacturer - changing the oil without changing the filter can leave up to a quart of dirty oil to be recirculated into the engine

Customer Reviews

My first and only oil filter4
So, I'm not a oil/oil filter engineer or know-it-all by any means. I purely made the choice to this Purolator on my SV650K5 simply because I read some other rides did so. Online professional oil filter studies on this rate it as an average filter that doesn't outperform nor underperform compared to the OEM Suzuki filters. So, I figure I can't go wrong. So far, I've used it for about 6K (4 oil changes, due to 3month-change standard; 1year).
I've actually cut one open and found that the filter material doesn't seem "cheap", whatever that means... it's not paper. Overall, the Amazon.com price is relatively comparable to PepBoys, another outlet you can get these from.
There is a caveat, if it matters any... this ML16818 oil filter is not made in USA, it is made in China. Not sure if that dictates any level of quality, as it's still managed by Purolator.
IMO, this is an average filter, as read by some online (CalSci website) studies, so I've rated it so.

It's a oil filter5
Saw some reviews and this is the best.
I bought 4 on Amazon for the price of 2 in the store.
Good job puralator

Why Buy These?2
This filter is "average" quality. That means it isn't Great or Terrible. Look at the cost. You can buy Purolator Pure One filters that are made in the USA that are "Superior" quality for LESS Money! I don't get it.
